Today’s song of the day is “Honey” by Erykah Badu. The single is the first from her upcoming album. Although I still think that Mama’s Gun is her best work (and one of the best albums of the decade), I’m just starting to realize how great Worldwide Underground was. From what I hear, this one will be just as good!

Today’s video of the day is a classic debate between Cornel West and the legendary John Henrik Clarke. Watching the two debate the differences between Clarke’s African-centered approach and West’s admittedly European orientation was interesting and invigorating. Enjoy!

Plague Fatality In Arizona

An autopsy revealed that an Arizona biologist who was found dead on Nov. 2 had contracted the pneumonic plague after handling a cougar corpse. What do you think?

Today’s photo of the day shows an earlier booking photo of Jan Adams, the doctor who performed surgery on Dr. Donda West.

According to TMZ:

Donda West’s operation lasted eight hours — twice as long as it should have. Dr. Jan Adams began the operation Friday morning and finished Friday evening. He then sent Ms. West home, rather than to a recovery center, which would have been appropriate. Several doctors at Centinela Hospital where West was taken believe the excessive amount of time it took to perform the procedure strongly suggests either something went wrong during the operation or the doctor was just too inexperienced.
