Western society loves to incarcerate blacks. America has the highest prison population in the world, right?

Man I used to really like your blog and your commentary, but not anymore. What on earth happened??

I’m trying to hang on as a fan, so i would advice you to unearth that old mojo you used to have. Im not feeling you, and Black America – as a majority – is mos def not feeling you. But you should know this already. Best of luck bro.

Marc- you nailed your points. left me with tangible numbers. called him out for trying to say black culture embraces jail life. whoever isn’t “feeling” you is wrapped up with a hate blanket, for whatever reason. we need to really examine the spending formulas, schools:prisons. we do not hear enough about this on the news. we are perpetuating the mistakes of the past, paying out the nose, for what you poignantly named a HEALTH ISSUE. what is the resistance to treating people for abuse within communities? this is a budget, jobs, health, education issue. peace – keep up the great work.

Looking at this video and seeing Marc moderate the discussion on re-entry at Riverside church during the Think Outside the Cell conference (September 14, 2011), these comments are timely and on point. Sidney Willhelm (Who Needs the Negro, 1971) felt that blacks have moved into a condition of being “:useless” to the American economy. He then suggests that blacks being “useless” are targeted for extinction (see article in Journal of Black Studies 1986 on Conditional Genocide). What would he say today if he saw the conditions of Blacks in America? Incarceration has tripled since 1990 (see Mauer “Race to Incarcerate” and Schiraldi 2003). Instead of wholesale elimination we have incarceration. Oh lets not forget HIV which is manufactured to kill us off.

Have your say
