As a professor, scholar, and public intellectual, I have the extraordinary privilege of being able to teach, think, read, and write my ideas for a living. While I am largely concerned with the plight of the hip-hop generation, my raison d’être within the life of the mind is to help us to imagine the world differently and better in order to alleviate suffering and create a more safe and democratic space for everyone. It is my sincerest hope that my vocation will allow me to serve as an asset to truth and an ally for social justice.
