My Thoughts

Is Sarah Palin killing her political career by writing her new book and appearing all over television.
Absolutely not. After screwing the Republican Party in the NY-23 race and whipping the nation into an unnecessary frenzy over non-existent “death panels,” Oprah’s stage is probably the safest place in the world for Sarah Palin. In order to move into the next phase of her political life, however, Palin must do more than offer revisionist narratives about her time on the campaign trail. She must also develop a deeper understanding of domestic and foreign policy, find ways of reaching out to moderate Republicans, and convince all Americans that she is more than a political show horse. While none of these things are impossible, I’m not holding my breath.
Why would Obama allow Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to be tried in New York civilian court, when even Muhammad himself wants to be tried in front of a military tribunal?
First, contrary to what the Right has erroneously stated, this decision comes from Attorney General Eric Holder, not President Obama. Second, why should we trust that Mohammed was being honest? Are terrorists known for their candor and sincerity when speaking to the Western media? Even if he is telling the truth, why should we base our criminal justice decisions on his desires? While I’m not convinced that civilian court is the right move, I have no doubt that we have the ability to keep New York safe, avoid a media spectacle, offer a fair and just trial, and secure an appropriate verdict. I say let’s celebrate the possible triumph of justice and not fall into the all-too-familiar game of “blame the opposition.”
What do you think about the rumors that the New York Knicks might pick up Allen Iverson?
As a die-hard Philadelphian, I hope that the Knicks are dumb enough to sign Iverson. A six-foot shoot guard who avoids practice, doesn’t pass the ball, and can’t guard anyone at his position, Iverson has always been a hard guy to play with. Now that he’s lost a few steps, Iverson is nothing more than an egomaniacal team cancer who isn’t worth a veteran’s minimum contract. That said, given the Knicks history, expect see Iverson in uniform next week.

On Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s trial venue:
I am surprised you would draw such a neat jurisdiction when it comes to the decision of holding his trial in New York. To utterly ignore the political strategem and its possible ramifications (hence the hand the Obama administration played in it) of the decision to try him in civilian court are a bit naive. Yes, Eric Holder is the Attorney General, yet you can hardly attribute much of his will in arriving at the ultimate decision.
Secondly, how can you believe that the courts in NY can “offer a fair and just trial, and secure an appropriate verdict.” If by justice for the Mohammed you mean, that the rules of evidence prevail, resulting in a jury unanimously deciding to acquit him beyond a reasonable doubt of suspicion? Impossible, no New Yorkan juror in any nook of a burrough can judge him impartially. If by justice for the American people you mean, the conviction of an unabashed enemy of our state based on the strict rules of evidence? No way, the methods used to extract information have all been of dubious legality and won’t stand up in court. Tainted! Only a military “court” can guarantee “justice” in this instance, with its lesser regard for due process, evidence, and any other Bill of Rights item.

Actually, Sarah Pallin has placed herself in a very formidable position to run for the Office of the President of the US. Pres. Obama needs to be very careful by solidifying his base and getting this healthcare reform approved and out, so they can focus on the economy. They need to do another stimulus package to drum up business after the holiday.
By the way, how are things with you these days? I do hope all is well with you. I am loving you pic. It’s quite sexy and yet professional looking. You need to create a television show that you market to Oprah and the like. she just might be interested in helping you since she reported that the show will end in September 2011. Think on it!

About Allen Iverson, I was certainly disappointed that he didn’t have the wherewithal to be a man and maintain his integrity for the sake of the team. The Memphis Grizzlies would have benefited from his contributions, especially during the second-half. Allen forgot one cardinal rule: wait and see what’s going to happen before you make a move. He didn’t stand. He just got up and ran away. Although he’s got money, the principle of the matter is what at stake. He might get a chance to play with New York if he can start, which he probably will start.
