Photo of the Day

November 30, 2007 by Marc Lamont Hill

Today’s photo of the day shows Cornel West and Barack Obama at the Apollo Theater last night, where Obama held a fund raiser. I must admit that I’m disappointed that West would endorse Obama rather than a more progressive candidate like, say, Dennis Kucinich.

I’m actually not surprised at all. Remember West supported Nader over Gore and regretted his decision in light of Bush’s victory. He (West) supported Kerry last election. West is going for someone he believes can actually win this time around. I agree with you in principle that Dennis is more progressive (and has a better looking wife – did I say that?) but he can’t win.

Cornel West supported Al Sharpton in 2004. Just thought I’d add that.

Yes Dennis was a much much MUCH better choice than Obama which is why I was very disappointed that he won.
