Didn’t the evolution of Madonna AND Janet spawn the debacle that IS Britney Spears. I mean, the girl became a valid pop icon that has rivaled both but now that she’s gone through some crazy shit somebody wants to declare that she’s nowhere near the essence that is Madonna. Newsflash: Madonna was and still is a crazy bitch too… and so is Mick Jagger.

yes, and all of those people on jackson’s list of influences are musically and politically inferior to madonna.

i’m well aware of the influences on mick jagger; he picked very well. tina turner and muddy waters are equally as impressive as mick jagger, if not more so.

cab calloway doesn’t need janet jackson to keep him alive.

bb king is a legend, not janet jackson. janet jackson, in the end, will be remembered more for her wardrobe malfunction than any of her music.

“Oh shit a pretty solid base…aka what the fuck i said…white folk still support their musical legends. Mick Jagger was a trendsetter?! You better research that fully. He took his stage presence from Tina Turner, his wannabe funk from Ike Turner and his whole band name from the title of a Muddy Waters song. LOL. Janet is inspirational huh…this is but mere watering down and refusal to admit my previous point. Janet “The Trendsetter” Jackson started and heavily influenced the performance style that Brittany Spears, Ciara, Rhiana, Christina Aguilera, etc Janet “The Trendsetter” Jackson revived the impact of Cab Calloway and exposed him to a younger generation via her Alright video. And she’s written some of her own songs might I add.

One shouldn’t be looking to entertainers for politics no how. If one is, that’s a personal problem. They’re not obligated to you. Conversely, Janet’s Rhythm Nation album was entirely about world politics and injustices. An album by the way takes the courage of an INNOVATIVE artist to make as a follow-up album when your biggest album Control came before it. I know we’re deep into the paparazzi era, but every charity, political, and outreach effort of a star ain’t your business. Quite frankly many of them do a lot of things with their financial backing and support but without their name so the concentration will be on the ultimate goal and not the celebrity.”

this should go without saying, but not all white people are loyal fans of madonna or mick jagger. they do, however, have a pretty solid base because they were major trend setters. janet jackson, i repeat, has never been a trend setter. she is well-admired, sells well, and appears to be an inspiration to many younger performers, but her musical and political influence, in my opinion, does not amount to influence and experimentation of madonna or the front man of for the rolling stones, or equal, for that matter, her brother’s status as innovator and performer.

ok james, i definitly just posted a rebuttal to your comment 50, and it did not post(it was kinda long, kinda) so i can’t re type it right now. if the Doc would find my comments for me, then it would really help me out *hint hint*.

and chgosista i didn’t read your friends comment yet i’ll get to it, but i have to run out the door for a couple. i’ll be back to finish this discussion in a few.
