The black guy’s trophy is the World Series Championship trophy (ie. the Vince Lombardi or Larry O’Brien trophy of baseball). The white guy’s trophy is the World Series MVP award.

Did some research and found that the trophy is actually called the Commissioner’s Trophy and is the only championship trophy out of the big 4 spectator sports that isn’t named after a person.

Well, Marc we were chanting “fuck Joe Buck” even after we won…yes, we are a shining star, this town I tell ya.
Broad Street was packed and nuts as predicted. Ear rattling screaming; Cops in riot gear; A few arrests; broken bottles everywhere; almost car tipping (not so much on Broad street…but in the Northeast…fire and asshole-ish behavior a’plenty)the occasional naked man running in the street (no naked gals or titty showings…unfortunate); hipsters pretending to be Phillies fans just so the crowd wouldn’t beat them up with their ironic t-shirt, yellow pumas and douchebag scarves; people doing shots in the street ( I had a few swigs myself); people on the subway way entrances, luggage was stolen from a luggage store on Broad and walnut; a champagne cork just barley missed my head, as well as some bottle rockets; white girl grabbed my ass, black girl rubbed my chest and stomach, asian girl kissed my cheek (I love diversity); took photos with people I didn’t even know, they just told me to pose with their friends; A couple people took down a tree…that’s right, a fucking tree and paraded the branches like it was on their family coat of arms. And my most absolute favorite moment last night was when I finally left to make my way home, I caught up with a guy on Market Street who was walking with a severe limp. Even while he was limping he was giving the random passerby a high five. I walked by him, shouted go Phillies, then he said, “Yeah, man. I think I broke my foot.”

Well I took solace in the fact that before y’all won your World Series, my Raptors came up into your house and stifled your Sixers. Your squad looks terrible by the way, you guys really need to go through some full day shooting drills because nobody on that team can buy a jumpshot.

Blaxx,
Hold on, young un. No need to get all riled up after game one. I can give you two reasons why that happened. 1.) There was nobody in “our house” last night. They were all at bars. 2.) The Sixers weren’t thinking about basketball last night, they were thinking about the Phillies …if you’re TV was good enough you could see a thought bubble over Dalembert’s head that had a picture of Jimmy Rollins’ ass getting tagged with a third baseman’s glove.

Actually zak, the place was full and bumping at tipoff (tip was 6pm so people could get across the street to Citizens Bell Park). And to get the place full, anyone with a World Series ticket could get a Sixers ticket for half price. So the place was rammed with fans in Phillies gear until about 8 minutes left in the 4th then they all started headed for the entrance.
And as for your Dalembert comment, I think if a thought bubble popped up over his head, it would have an image of him jumping over the scorers’ table and strangling Leo Rautins for kicking him off the Canadian National team.

Okay, you win on comment #13. I didn’t even know there was a Sixers game on until a half-hour before the Phillies game started. And truthfully, the last Sixers game I went to was when Detroit still had Grant Hill. I used to follow basketball like crazy back in the day, but the game has gotten so boring I can’t even get through a whole a broadcast anymore. College Ball..still exciting.
As for comment #14: Damn, Blaxx, I was trying to keep it friendly, but you sound like you got a real beef with this city. Did someone sodomize you with a cheese steak last time you were in town or something?
You could be right, that may very well be the last time we win another championship in a long time, and all I got to say is whateva, boxing day. We won.

This is just a hiccup in a long history of your cities failures.
I’m surprised you fall out of love with the NBA with some of the players in the league right now.

Christ, I didn’t want to get into this…whatever. we won. I’m happy. I’m going to the parade tomorrow. I love my city. wish I had your health care. we done?
As far as the NBA goes, it’s not like I don’t pay attention to todays great players. As much as a fucking cock Kobe Bryant is (believe me, I know from personal experience) he is without a doubt one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my life. Same goes with Lebron and Nash. It just feels like something is lacking…maybe a pure rivalry. For example take the NBA all-star games from the 80s–those guys would duke it out for real back then, not exactly for the pride of representing their conferences, but just that must win competitive mentality. I don’t see that today. I don’t see heart. I see highlights. In all fairness, I did enjoy watching last year’s Celtics. They could play some ball together.

Yeah, the All-Star games are wack. They are more about the parties in the host city over the course of All-Star weekend. (Toronto in 2011 BABY!!!). I dunno what we gotta do to get some good rivalries started. I mean if Lebron and Kobe really started goin at it like Magic and Bird that would be great except for the fact that the Lakers are stacked and the Cavs aren’t even better than most D-League teams without Lebron.

I wish I had an answer. I remember being younger and of course falling in the love with the players who could leap out of this world or pull off acrobatic shots…as I get older, I find myself more intrigued with pure shooters, or guys who play D, I mean really play D, or slight ruffians.

phriends got to see a sporty parade after 25 LONG YEARS, tell how did it feel to you? Did tears fall down your eyes shaped like the salt on a philly pretzel? Did you get a sudden urge to buy a stranger a steak and cheese sub, no strike that, a cheese steak hoagie or is it a zep? Zak do you know the difference?
BTW, you ain’t never lied when you say “In all fairness, I did enjoy watching last year’s Celtics. They could play some ball together.”
Those games toward the end had a particularly exhilarating feel about them, don’t you agree?
As for the Phillies, all I can say is congrats and wait until next year y’all…we’re soaking are “REDSOXs” feet right now, but we will be back with a VENGEANCE, believe that!
