This is why I would fear being rich and famous in the music biz. Seriously, I’d be gone. Half-fro or skullet–I’d rock the George Jefferson; I’d have a hitler ’stache; I’d be putting cocaine, heroin, all up on the mic and snorting it while I was performing. No self control. Yes, I would fear it.

See this is what happens when people gas up artists that are “pushing the envelop” so now Kanye wants to rock a mullet and it won’t surprise me if some sheep start following along. This is further proof of cultures blending, Kanyes rocks a mullet and everywhere I turn I see young brothas sporting mohawks real heavy ever since Puff reintroduced it during his NYC marathon extravaganza knowing damn well Mr. T was the only known black man with a hawkie lol. What’s gonna be next, Sportin’ Waves or how about the return of the Super S-Curl??

Kanye was always crazy. Before the fame and before his mothers death. Its sad to watch it all unfold. I hope he gets his mind together one day. Its ironic though his crazyness is what gives us his music and for the most part looking at his whole body of work I would say it is pretty good. Same thing with little the drugs helps him create good music.

Watching Kanye is like watching a train wreck you dont want to watch but you have to watch.

how exactly is he crazy??? what? because he did something different to his hair? why does he have to be crazy, because he marches to the beat of his own drummer??? damn can the brotha live and be the individual he wants to be? the brotha is very talented, he loves all forms of the arts. just because some of us don’t get his style, does not make him crazy…

i give the brotha credit for doing him. i must be crazy too then, cuz i like kanye’s style…

well kanye just lost his mother and he’s the only child. maybe he’s just grieving in his own special way. the guy is an exceptional visual artist, so that means he sees things in a more abstract and unusual way than the average person. it’s a fine line between genius and insanity….and i truly believe that this man is gifted.

we have something in common, i lost my Mom at 24 too. and some ppl might just question the way i’m grieving her as well…i guess that’s why i feel the need to defend Mr. West.

Aww, I’m so sorry for your lost (this is recent correct?). Girl, people are probably questioning how you are grieving. I know they (friends, family, and etc.) questioned my grief path. yeah JJG, i lost her 7 months ago. quite frankly i don’t give two shullets what a person thinks of me or my choices…losing my Mom has made me so much stronger, stronger than i could ever imagine. before her death, the thought of losing her made me feel like i could be in a mental institution. but surprisingly, i’m much stronger than i’ve ever been in my life. she’s instilled that strength in me, and for her, and that, i’m sooo thankful. WYLTK, my mom suffered from diabetes–I lost her in March ‘99. I was still 28 at the time and thought to myself, “Gosh, my mom won’t get to see me really become a woman–I’m not even 30 yet!!” :-)

I am glad that you know sista, that it DOES get easier–it really does! :-) At first, I couldn’t even say “Gladys Knight” w/o bursting into tears (she was my mom’s FAV-O-RITE), but now, whenever I hear “Make Yours A Happy Home”, “On and On,” etc., I scream, “Heeeeeeyyyy–that was my momma’s CUT!”

I met him for the first time when I was 14. Homeboy was fine and was disappointed when I heard the news. LOL! Girl, my family is HUGE too, although I don’t know a lot of them. My grandfather had about 15 kids and I only know about 8 cousins from that side of the family. And since when did Jamaican’s have family reunions? I always thought that was an American thing (which I envy). LOL!

WYLTK,

I would have hemp grafted onto my skin, somehow sporting a Jesus piece all up on my chest playing a mean ass game of cricket. (I’m not even religious, but I’d be so fucked up my only excuse to the public would be that I like the messiah’s beard).

WYLTK, I am not surprised by the cultural and racial diversity in your family…like my grandmother says we are all “mix-up,mix-up” and then she recites the Jamaican Coat of Arms, “Out of many, One People.” LOL!

LOL WYLTK and Zak, it’s true, I don’t know no Jamaican people that have family reunions (even amongst my friends that still deyah yard). We have gatherings and baby showers that turn into the biggest bashments of the year, but no reunions. Maybe it’s because the family reunions would require passports and papers for some. LOL!
