Photo of the Day
May 1, 2007 by Marc Lamont Hill
Today’s photo of the day shows some Black Hollywood stars attending a Barack Obama fundraising event. No Black candidate (no, silly American, Bill Clinton doesn’t count) has captured the imagination of Black A-listers like this since Jesse Jackson. I wonder if having Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan supporting him will bolster his credibility among everyday Black people. Obama-rama has officially begun!!!

Uhura, I’m shocked and appalled at the accusation.
In all seriousness, I do think that, given the early questions about his racial authenticity, having the endorsement of this cadre of Black celebrities (the ones who appeal to the Ebony/Essence/Tavis Smiley-type audience)is a positive sign.
