Sources Say Duke Victim Offered Two Million Dollars to Remain Quiet
June 27, 2006 by Marc Lamont Hill

The cousin of the accuser in the Duke University lacrosse rape case says that alums of Duke offered her a staggering $2 million “to drop the charges, and go on with her life.” On June 19, the woman, whose first name is Jakki, told The Carolinian and Wilmington Journal that the allleged victim “told me they wanted her to make the case go away.”
More important, Jakki insists that her cousin refused to accept money in exchange for silence due to her commitment to justice.
Although the University denies these rumor, other sources have confirmed to The Carolinian and Wilmington Journal newspapers that early on, several Black leaders were approached by persons concerned about outcome of the controversy and offered money to the leaders, the victim, and NCCU if they could convince her to recant her claims.
According to these sources, the victim and the leaders refused the money. In fact, the woman has refused money from NCCU student organizations, charities, and even Jesse Jackson, who publicly offered to pay her college tuition. Despite her dire financial circumstances –she has not worked since the incident and is relying on her thin savings to support herself and family– she does not want to fuel perceptions that she is motivated by money.
At a moment when the national media has done a stunning aboutface and begun to crucify the victim for her alleged oppportunism, it will be interesting to see how this information is received.

(I guess it’s better than last week’s BOLD fiasco!)
My guess is that the folks who have been dogging homegirl out for the last few months are going to ignore this news.
This media trial is so exhausting, I wish they’d hurry up and go to court.

I bet cousin “Jackii” was the one offered 2 million dollars to shut up.
There’s too much evidence that proves the stripper’s claim was a malicious lie. No one needs to sink to the stripper’s or her family’s level – as Mike Nifong did, and he’s seeing his career and future slipping away.
I hope dear cousin “Jackii” knows that even though she refuses to reveal the source of the “alleged bribe” now, when she’s subpoenaed as a witness, she will be forced to, or she will join her cousin “little miss lying stripper” in prison.
I hope this accusation sees the light of day in a court room, it seems like lying is a familial trait in this stripper’s family.

I hate strippers anyway. Teasing men to get their Loot, praying on weakness, perversion and Sickness. ANy man who will pay to get teased is a Weak minded individual. Why not take your money to a prostitute and get results!!! You get a willing chic, and get to bust a nut for $20 bucks in 15-20 minutes. Why waste hours stuffing ones in thong and go home with Throbbing Balls and the willingness to f*ck anything with an oriface?
That Duke victim is not a victim now….Shes a liar who claims shes not motivated by money….WEll, in that case, Why does she strip for money?
Hypocrital Liar…
Oh btw, I am a black man and have been for 46 years…
