Sports Quickies

- The Eagles must be the happiest losers in years. After standing up to the Patriots and taking the game to the last seconds, the team has a renewed sense of pride and cohesiveness. The only challenge will be maintaining that momentum once McNabb comes back. If they can, they have an outside chance of winning the final wildcard spot.
- Kevin Durant may be the most frustrating player in the league to watch. Despite having all-world talent, the rookie phenom has absolutely no discipline and on-the-court work ethic. Despite being 6′10, Durant only averages 6 rebounds. Despite being able to get to the basket at will, he settles for quick 25 footers with a hand in his face. Maybe P.J. Carlesimo’s tough-as-nails style will instill some much needed patience and passion in his game.
- Given his recent indictment, it is likely that Barry Bonds has played his final game. What a sad way to end the greatest career in baseball history. Let’s hope this pesky indictment goes away and he can play one last season as an American League DH.
- Can someone give me a good reason why there’ still no playoff system in college football?
- After the first dozen games, the Boston Celtics look like the beast of the East. In addition to the Big Three, the defense has been strong and the bench has added much needed support. At this rate, they’ll win 65 games.I’m still, however, holding on to my prediction that they’ll lose in the Eastern Finals. I’m not being stubborn (yet), I just need to see what happens when the adrenaline wears off. Besides, the Bulls may be more likely to be the trigger on a Kobe trade in a few weeks.
- Why is Isiah Thomas still employed?
- The Mets Suck
