What if this video was of a McCain fraternity? Would the author and all of the people who left comments in support of it have the same opinion? My wife teaches history at a predominately black high school in Texas. That being said this is obviously a Red State. Several of her co-workers are McCain supporters, so I am grateful that they are not allowed to teach their opinions to our youth.

I think its okay as long as the kids volunteered for the club and were not forced into it.There's nothing wrong with taking an interest in politics and whats going on with your country. Its more constructive than many other things. If kids can join youth Republican and Democrat groups then this should be okay. They are just doing fraternity stuff (some people might not understand that and think its a militant thing). They are just stomping or stepping.

This teacher seems to acting in an effort to counter Racism (White Supremacy)in the people activity area of education and/or politics. It is my hope that he/she is successful in that effort.

What were the grounds for the teacher's suspension?

I went on Youtube and saw the video and I am proud that there is a leader in the 21st century that has inspired the youth. I have never seen a candidate make so many people want to get in on a presidential election! I read some of the comments on youtube and it does not surprise me that racism and ignorance are rearing their ugly heads.....I think it says a lot when someone can inspire musicians, actors, other political figures, and sports stars, in addition to us regular people to voice their votes with T-shirts and songs (song by Will.I.Am, John Legend, and Sophie Kravitz). When has George Bush or even John McSame inspired anybody?!?! I applaud the teacher that inspired these students to do this.

Schools should provide students with worthwile learning experiences that allow them to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes that will make them useful to themselves and society. As long as they are accomplishing the required goals and objects set forth in the schools academic curriculum, then stepping and chanting political positions is a diversion that they should be allowed to participate in but not on the school premises.

That was beautiful to watch. And no, it is not a surprise that the teacher was suspended. Trying to teach young black men pride, discipline, and dignity simply can not be tolerated. What a shame, but the brother who worked with these young men needs to be applauded and shown support.

If these young men had worn, boy scout uniforms, and saluted and said we are inspired by Clinton...I honestly believe there would cheers and commendations all around. Conform or you are suspect! The complaints over this just make me disgusted!! Someone actually compared this to Hitler! I will pray for the hears and mind that could even deduce such a thing out of htis. Hitler wanted others not like him DEAD~!, He was not encouraging education or serving others!!

Please open you mind and your eyes!
If these young men are learning to apply discipline...I see that positive.
If they are inspired to seek education and not drugs or guns - I see that as positive.
If they share these values with others - and encourage one another to persue their goals, I see at as positive.
If they take that message to their homes and communities, I see that as positive. What - What is so threatening about this? That it is different than the way OTHERS do it.

Okay, it is different than what someone of another culture might do...not criminal, not sinful, not bad, just different! A higher power than either of us created it that way...Please don't kill the dream...don't kill these children...and don't kill Obama just because he is different!
