LMAO. I laughed especially hard when I saw Bill O’Reilly pop up.
Never really noticed how plain Dr. Hill’s first and last names are. No wonder he makes sure everyone calls him by his full name

I’m tellin you Clifton, it’s cuz Marc Hill is just so regular sounding. If we didn’t get all the names people on the street would be having exchanges like this:
“Did you see that handsome black fellow on Bill O’Reilly last night? He was talking that good shit, who was that?”
“Oh that was just Marc Hill, he aiight”
Now when it’s Dr. Marc LAMONT Hill, Ph.D, ppl recognize

Is it because you thought the government was watching you booklover? Are you hiding under your bed with your laptop wearing a tinfoil hat right now?
This type of marketing and advertising even freaks me out a lil. I don’t know if any of you have heard about the marketing campaign for the movie Saw V where you can enter your friend’s name and phone number so that they get a phone call similar to the taped messages in the movie. If I hadn’t read about it in the paper and got a phone call that started out “Hello Blaxx, I want to play a game”, I probably would have thrown my phone down the block Brett Favre style.

Anita – you should still exercise your right to vote, even if you have to write your own name in. Its apart of our American duty.

I must have misread anita’s comment. I didn’t catch her saying she’s not voting. Do you mind sharing why you choose not to vote anita, if you don’t mind my asking?

Ahhh, Voting!!! Such a dilemma!
You guys should have seen the emails being exchanged back and forth on my Republican Committee listserv. (Lord!)
(It’s so funny, how here I’m a “WARMONGER”, but over there I’m the peacemaker.)
Here’s the gist of what’s been going down:
Ok, so all (or most really) of the Black Republicans (and there are a whole lot of us) are backing Barack, proudly! And most of them are very vocal and open that the main reason is simply b/c Barack is BLACK.
Well this has just T-off our white counterparts!
The White Republicans are saying how “stupid” that is and if ever we were REALLY Conservatives in the first place we would not vote for such a liberal, soc. man as Barack!
The whites just don’t understand how we can let go of our “previously/pretended strong conservative views” to vote for a guy that has nothing in common with us but our skin color.
I’m sure you can imagine how ugly it’s getting! One of the white guys even referred to us as his “enemies” now! Just simply b/c they were voting Dem in ONE election!
I totally understand where the whites are coming from. It’s very hard for me to vote for someone who believes the exact opposite of pretty much everything I believe.
But I totally understand where the blacks are coming from, b/c for a long time I was very happy and excited to vote for Barack, just simply b/c he was black (and smart).
It’s just easier for me NOT to vote!

Hi PP, I am working on bringing Hal back. Life has changed since the blog began, we all got jobs that actually keep us busy now. LOL. ooo, how I miss the days of grad school.:-)

i’m voting early tonight (will be in transit on election day, absentee ballots seem like a hassle) at my county store, which is located in our local mall and seems very convenient. can’t wait to get my vote cast. yea, there was a time too when i didn’t believe my vote was important or didn’t matter very much. i’ve since come to believe that voting is an essential part of being an american, kind of like enjoying jazz and baseball.

oh ting it would be so fun if Hal came around from time to time! It would be like getting the band back together….we could get Afrikabelle up in here and have an ePoetry Slam.
jobs are dumb (except the part when they pay you)

I do think its weird that a Black republican would vote for Barack just b/c he’s Black. I’m not trying to dissuade anyone for voting Barack b/c I support him but as a liberal I wouldn’t vote for Clarence Thomas if he ran just b/c he was Black or any Black politican whose views were opposite of mine.

If all you had to do to get the black vote was be black, we would be watching President Flava Flav being sworn in on Inauguration Day

This movie is complete Horse$&*t! There is NOWAY that that socialist should get elected! He will crush our economy! He has no experiance, especially compared to McCain! And what real life experiance does Mr. Hill have to be giving out his so-called “political” advice! What a bafoone!

Vote or not vote, The Federal reserve will still exists and those who rule 50 yrs, 100 yrs ago, hell today will rule 5 minutes from now, 5 yrs from now and 100 yrs from until we truly understand power and the fact that power can’t be elected nor voted upon, but taken. Best thing people can do is to rid themselves of debt, produce something of value to generate wealth, love their family, reestablish a strong sense of family, and grow a garden. Barack will not fundamentally change anything in this country. If he tries, he will sleeping with JFK.

It’s silly how people (dumb ass people anyway) are promoting this socialist nonsense. Wake the FU** up! Selfish ass morons. “Spreading the wealth” is not socialism. Barack’s plan is not different than what’s going on already. He just wants to raise taxes slightly on 5% of the country and folks is having a fit. Josh, you probably would benefit more from Obama’s plan. That is unless you make more than $250,000 a year. Otherwise chill with the nonsense.

I might vote. I don’t know. I voted for W. the first time and 4 years ago didn’t vote bcuz well I couldn’t vote for W. again and I thought John Kerry was a dill weed, lol. I like Hillary bcuz she’s a strong woman and as a woman I want a woman in office, human nature. But when Obama didn’t choose her because of whatever dumb reason he had it made me think A LOT less of him. And I’m not an old fart so I don’t want to vote for Mccain, although I like he picked a woman as his running mate… SO, what do you do? I agree and disagree with things each of them represent. My mom’s a dem, my dad’s a repub, and will vote on party lines and I just don’t fit with either right now in my life I guess. So… I might vote but I don’t know yet.

Anita, are you black? Just wondering because of your human nature comment. If you are black, why do you choose your gender over your race? Just curious.
