The president did the right thing. Only the America haters want to see these photos. If you want to look at pictures that badly, then buy a camera!

Well, that doesn’t make much sense Tom Penn. And to say “only the America haters” want to see the photos, also doesn’t make much sense.
First off, this Mike Gallagher is just full of shit. secondly, the valid point that I haven’t heard a decent rebuttal or counter point against is that the pictures aren’t the problem, but what is in the pictures, (the actions, U.S. torturing people) that will create more terrorists.
I agree with Marc, this move really made Obama look like he crumbled under the pressure of Cheney, Limbaugh, and the threats of the republicans. I still am reserving judgement about Obama, being that it’s still really really early in his term, but he’s seem more like the same than the change he was talking about.
I heard all this bottom up economy talk, but all i’ve seen is big corporations getting billions of dollars…

Yes, I too am disappointed with Obama for rescinding his decision to release the torture photos. As much as I like Obama, his recent action illustrations that he has the tendency to be a people-pleaser. He ran as a Democrat, thus he should act accordingly. I know many people don’t care for Hilary, but she would not have been bullied in to this decision. Obama needs to find his own voice and not rely on the voices of senior Democrats and Republicans. Hopefully in time his voice will get stronger.

Yeah, very true JJG. It’s funny, I keep holding off on just calling his decisions outright mistakes, because he seems much smarter, but I also know this is a new job, and sometimes you fuck up….

Clif, I understand why you are hesitant to be critical of Obama, but many of the decisions that he makes, do not have “do-overs.” As Blacks, we are incredibly loyal, but we owe it to him to be critical and to challenge the decisions he makes. This is the only way that he will have an honest legacy.

Exactly. I agree exactly with that right there. As unfair as it may be, quite frankly..he just doesn’t have the luxury that Bush or anyone else had (suprise suprise right?), but you are correct, their is no “do-overs” and “oops, my bads” when your the president.

President Obama is right. If we all want to see pix that badly, then he should show us pix of thousands of dead Taliban. His focus needs to be on killing them. Not showing us pix of losers from five years ago! I support our Commander-in-Chief !!!!

I don’t see how releasing the pictures will be beneficial. The pictures would surely be used as propaganda. W/o them, it’s all speculation. Either you believe in the change of policies or you don’t. Lemme simplify… if you cheated on your girl and she knows you were wrong… would sending her pictures of the girls you were with make her trust you more? Either she believes you changed or not.
Am I missing something here? How is releasing these pictures really beneficial?
And this Gallagher guy is a bozo and I say that w/ no offense to any professional clowns that may be reading this.

Dr. Hill’s colleagues known as “Code Pink” are threatening to call President Obama a “war criminal” !!!
Oh my God, we’re in BIG trouble now !!!!
God Bless our Commander-in Chief !!!

I agree with ILL BIZ. We already know what happened, the release of the pictures would only serve to enflame the situation.
Obama’s decisions have to be measured and calcualated with respect to consequences. Releasing of the pics would only be fluff and have no real value except to bolster American opposition.

Greetings all ,
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting brother Hajj Malik Shabazz as a child. I wish I had kept the photo that he and my dad, Moosa Samad Hakeem, took together even as a child I saw the beauty and knowledge of this wonderful man. But not until now, have I met anyone that remotely reminds me of him, until I had the pleasure of listening to the Outstanding Dr. Marc Lamont Hill. Thank Allah (God) for you and may you have much peace and blessing in your life..

i totally agree with Marc Lamont it will put the troops more into danger if we hide these pictures and im disseminated in Obama for not letting them be leaked,
Marc Lamont has a point again being the genius that he is said its not good to show the world we have something to hide its a democracy so nothing should be hidden
we as the u.s tell other countries don’t do this and that but we our self are being corrupt by not showing the Americans the truth
