Video of the Day

January 8, 2010 by Marc Lamont Hill

Today’s video of the day comes from Larry King Live, where I participated in a discussion about President Obama’s response to the recent terror plots.

How do we win the war on terror? Why are terrorist attacking us? I hear people making fun of Bush and conservatives saying “they hate us for our freedom” and then argue that us attacking them in drone strikes makes more terrorists. They seem to hate us for our interference in their land and our blind support of Israel. Will constantly striking back at them for an attempted attack actually end this war on an ideology or will it just make it continue on an endless cycle?

To me America is just falling into their hands and we will bankrupt ourselves in fighting this war especially if Republicans make big gains in Congress and make a strong run for President in 2012. We were warned by George Washington and Dwight Eisenhower.

I first heard of you on the Larry King Show (referenced above). I especially enjoyed listening to you as you have a “particular compelling style” when giving your opinions, comments, and/or suggestions. You radiate confidence and clarity on the issues and, as a listener, I paid more attention to what was being said.
(It also helped that I agreed with virtually everything you had to say.)

The problem with the right winged idiots is that they neglect to acknowledge the fact that these terrorist are stateless people. Although they live or are native to these countries, they often don’t affiliate themselves with the country or their nations views. Instead, they are yoked to their terrorist ideals. With that being said, it is now absurd to suggest that the government should go and forge an attack on these countries. Everyone wants to go and attack THEM, my question to you is “Who the hell are THEY?!?!”
