But as far as some of these rappers I do have expectations. Not everyone is going to change the world but when you're completely ignorant to the messages you're sending I think its wrong because these dudes aren't stupid, they're just doing it for profit of themselves. Thats just my humble opinion. Cam is the same dude who had a press conference cuz he had 'beef' with Jay Z. The same dude who called the radio station to defend Koch records. The same dude who talks for about 15 minutes before his songs start talkin about absolutely nothin but when it comes to anything political he's mute while at the same time he's talkin about himself reporting whats going on in his community. Now whats the problem, its obvious that this man doesn't mind talking, but its just not that profitable to go there. I think thats a lil disappointing when you think of the sacrifices of those who've come before us and we've gotten to the point where financial gains erases any moral obligations. friendly fyi... I’m always proud of anyone who stands their ground on the O’Reilly factor and doesn’t allow the limelight or demeanor of Bill O’Reilly to fear or alter their view. Also, big ups to principal Thomas-El for respecting youth/hip-hop culture but asking and discussing why entertainers should portray the positive side of their lives such as “entrepreneurship,” because students do look up to celebrities (rappers, etc.), and like or not they are a form of role-models and hopefully at some point they “entertainers” will feel some social responsibility towards youth; especially minority youth. But, at some point our culture/community and society must not look to place full blame on the entertainment industry for chaos and destruction that is the easy excuse, I am a firm believer that art imitates life, verses life imitating art.
